Madison has been an incredibly popular jacket. As with most of my patterns it’s worked in pieces from the bottom up and has set-in sleeves. The stand-up collar and rolled button band are added during finishing. The bodice is heavily textured, but the pattern is written in such a way that staying in pattern while shaping the sleeves is a no-brainer.
The sample for Madison is worked in a gorgeous alpaca yarn from Plymouth called Baby Alpaca Ampato. I’m always being seduced by alpaca, but in all honesty, if I did this one again, I’d use a merino so the finished jacket isn’t quite as heavy.
The pattern is written for 7 sizes with a finished bust measurements of 35 (37, 39¾, 40¼, 43, 45, 47¾)”. I suggest a standard ease of 2″ which means this will fit anyone with a bust measurement from approximately 33″ – 46″.
